First things your going to need are some images. I'd suggest that you create your own
although for the sake of this tutorial I am going to provide you with some samples.

If you'd like to make your own first here are the dimensions that you'll need
AIM signon screen - 190 x 150
today buttons - 47 x 32
One quick thing you should know is that making the 'today' buttons can be a little tricky.
If your fairly experienced with graphics then you shouldn't have a problem. If not then i'd
recommend using mine as a templete until you get the hang of it.
Also these might not be the only dimensions that you can use, but i haven't tried anything
else, if someone does use something different let me know.
OK, lets get started, first off make sure your completely exited out of AIM then copy the
entire folder that aim is installed in
to a new folder. Name it what ever you want, this is going to be your testing
folder.
Next break out the old resource hacker and open the file aimres.dll, you should
get something that looks like this.
First we're going to change the signon screen, because it's the funnest. Open the directory
